Submit a Sample

The first step in obtaining reliable, accurate and timely information from a feed & forage test starts through actions taken by you. That’s because the analyses rely upon excellent sampling procedures performed on the farm.  

But don’t worry. You’ll find tips for sampling hay, silage (from towers, bunkers and piles) and TMRs, along with handling and shipping recommendations, in the pages listed below.  In addition, you’ll see step-by-step guidelines for shipping internationally.

1. Request Supplies - Dairyland provides pre-paid postage mailers within the contiguous U.S. as well as test kits for Fecal Starch, Apparent Digestibility, and Water. 

2. Request an Account - control the billing of your sample analysis and allow for reporting by email, web, fax, or U.S. mail.  You can also set up a web account which allows users to download results in several formats and keep a historical record of past results. Setting up an account is not mandatory prior to shipment of samples. You may also enclose payment. 

3. Complete Submission Form - download a feed submission form to include with your sample.
